Three southern Brooklyn representatives rallied Monday to urge the state’s Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) to deny the application for a proposed cannabis dispensary in Bay Ridge, after the local community board voted against it last week.

Republican Assembly Members Michael Tannousis and Alec Brook-Krasny, along with Rep. Nicole Malliotakis, led the June 24 rally outside the site of the proposed dispensary, the former Pilo Arts hair salon on Third Avenue. The location includes three storefronts.

(WASHINGTON, DC) - This week while traveling on a bipartisan congressional delegation, Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis met with the Dalai Lama at his residence in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, India. During the visit, Malliotakis presented His Holiness with gifts including a framed photograph from The Jacques Marchais Museum of Tibetan Art on Staten Island that he previously visited in 1991, and an assortment of teas from the museum’s label.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Elected officials and community leaders gathered in Port Richmond Monday to speak out against the city’s latest plan to shelter migrants in a house of worship.

Borough President Vito Fossella, Councilwoman Kamillah Hanks (D-North Shore), Councilman David Carr (R-Mid-Island), and James Smith, of the Port Richmond North Shore Alliance civic group, led the press conference against the planned shelter for 15 men at Faith United Methodist Church at the corner of Heberton and Castleton avenues starting Tuesday.
