Project NamePublic Safety Center

Project Description/Location: The establishment of a Public Safety Center within CS f's library will significantly enhance the safety and well-being of our college community, and the broader local community that utilizes its campus for various events. This Center will serve as a centralized resource hub where students, faculty, staff, and community members can access emergency services, safety information and support resources in a convenient and accessible location. 2800 Victory Blvd, Staten Island, NY 10314

Project Description/Location: In furtherance of their efforts to provide cutting edge science, research, and education opportunities for Staten Island, New York, and the region as a whole. The requested funding would be used by the FKPA to purchase equipment to be used at their Biological Station which will enhance opportunities for researchers and students to undertake study of the most pressing environmental issues facing our community, such as climate resilience, species conservation in urban areas, and green jobs training. 2240 Richmond Ave, Staten Island, NY 10314

Project Name Safety and Security Upgrades

Project Description/Location: In furtherance of their efforts to provide cutting edge science, research, and education opportunities for Staten Island, New York, and the region as a whole. The requested funding would be used by the FKPA to purchase equipment to be used at their Biological Station which will enhance opportunities for researchers and students to undertake study of the most pressing environmental issues facing our community, such as climate resilience, species conservation in urban areas, and green jobs training. 75-20 Astoria Blvds, Queens, NY 11370

Project Name:  Staten Island Training Facility 

Project Description/Location: The firehouse needs a complete kitchen renovation, replacement of the roofing, security fencing around the perimeter, and parking lot and apron replacement. In 2018, the former firehouse that housed Engine 154 in Staten Island became host to the first Squad Company on the island. As Squad companies are larger and have an expanded scope of responsibilities, the firehouse is in need of renovations to ensure that it properly can house the Squad. The City of New York owns this building on Staten Island, New York which needs to be renovated. Squad companies are the most flexible and versatile FDNY units, as they can operate as engine companies, truck companies, rescue companies, or hazmat companies. Staten Island received its first ever squad company in 2018, when the Squad 8 was moved into the firehouse that previously housed Engine 154. As Squad companies are larger, they require additional space and berthing for all the additional crews and equipment.. 9 Metrotech Center, Brooklyn, New York 11201

Project Description/Location: The project would benefit the firefighters of Engine 284/Ladder 149/Satellite 3 who share the building, who respond to fire and medical emergencies throughout the borough of Staten Island, which, in turn, would benefit the fire and life safety of all residents on the island. Project Description/Location: With an uptick in car theft and car breaks in the area which is difficult to combat due to the lack of cameras in the area and desolate nature at night.  Argus cameras will be placed to have surveillance in the area. One Police Plaza, New York, NY 10038

Project Name Mobile Plate Readers

Project Description/Location: The funding would be used for the purchase of these systems will be used to combat automobile theft:  speed enforcement applications such as slowing and maintaining posted speeds; traffic data collection.  The portability of the systems allows for rapid deployment in problem areas. Over the last five years, car thefts across New York City have increased 15% and with the hard work of the New York Police department these thefts on Staten Island have decreased by 11%.   There is a lot of work left to do and these systems will help the NYPD protect our citizens. Project Name: Infrastructure Upgrades for the Staten Island Ferry Terminal (SIFT) 

Project Description/Location: This critical initiative seeks to modernize the SIFT to address current and future risks to operational continuity while supporting the long-term functionality of vital transportation and public spaces between and in Staten Island and Manhattan. The deconstruction of the existing Whitehall Ferry Terminal (WFT) and rebuilding of a new, modern SIFT is a critical step in the creation of an integrated, areawide flood protection system (FPS). This FPS will protect against coastal and tidal flooding for the City’s Financial District (FiDi) Seaport stretch of the Lower Manhattan shoreline.

Project Description/Location: The Navigation Project, Pre-construction Engineering and Design  plan moving forward is to deepen the channels by 5 feet to a maintained depth of -55 feet MLLW. Project NameHowland Hook Re-evaluation Study Project

Project Description/Location: Howland Hook Marine Terminal (HHMT) is located on the northwestern coast of Staten Island, NY adjacent to the Arthur Kill federal navigation channel. The channel is maintained at -50 feet MLLW. The proposed re- evaluation study will examine the possibility of improving navigation within the channel by widening, bend- easing, and/or deepening. In particular, widening the Arthur Kill would allow quicker, safer transit to and from HHMTU.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District 26 Federal Plaza, Room 17-411 New York, NY, 10278
