Meet Nicole

Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis is serving her third term representing New York’s 11th Congressional District which encompasses Staten Island and parts of Southern Brooklyn. Malliotakis is a member of the House Committee on Ways and Means and throughout her tenure in Congress she has been focused on strengthening our economy, securing the southern border, tackling inflation, unleashing America’s energy potential and making New York safe and affordable.
As a member of the House Ways and Means Committee, Malliotakis was instrumental in shaping and advancing pro-growth, pro-jobs policies to unleash economic prosperity and repatriate domestic manufacturing. She successfully fought for key provisions to reduce taxes on hardworking Americans, middle-class families and senior citizens including quadrupling the State and Local Tax (SALT) deduction to $40,000 for individuals and families, increasing and making permanent the Standard Deduction and Child Tax Credit, and delivering the most significant tax relief for senior citizens in a generation. She drafted the provision that provides a bonus deduction for seniors aged 65 and older that effectively eliminates federal tax liability on senior citizens’ Social Security benefits for an estimated 88% of America’s seniors.
Malliotakis also championed the inclusion of her Employer Participation in Repayment Act into law, which makes permanent the tax-free employer student loan repayment program that allows employers to provide up to $5,250 annually to help employees pay down student loans, tuition, and other education-related expenses.
Malliotakis was a lead plaintiff in the successful lawsuit against the City of New York that stopped the City’s law to allow non-citizens to vote in municipal elections from taking effect. She has also been a leader in the fight to end New York City Congestion Pricing Program and worked with President Trump to rescind the Biden Administration’s approval of the program. She is currently a plaintiff in the lawsuit against the Metropolitan Transportation Authority currently pending in federal court.
Malliotakis’ office has resolved over 23,000 constituent cases, helped more than 220 immigrants become United States citizens, and delivered over $230 million to the district including federal funding for local sewer projects and other infrastructure, local hospitals, the Staten Island Ferry, NYPD, U.S. Coast Guard Sector New York, and the St. George Theatre.
Malliotakis delivered on her promise to secure New York’s fair share of federal mass transit funding as a former member of the House Committee on Transportation & Infrastructure with her vote for the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA). Over $100 million has already been committed to NY-11 from the IIJA for various projects including the rehabilitation of bridges over the Staten Island Expressway, Gowanus Expressway, and dredging in Arthur Kill Terminal.
Malliotakis also worked to get the Staten Island Seawall Project back on track after costly redesign requests made by the city caused years of delays and has ensured the federal share of the project will be fully funded to completion alleviating the financial burden on the city and state.
As a former member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, Malliotakis has been a strong advocate for promoting American values abroad, reducing supply chain reliance on China, and countering the spread of communism in Central and South America. She has consistently stood by U.S. allies like Greece, Cyprus, and Israel in the face of authoritarian threats and terrorism.
Prior to Congress, Malliotakis spent five terms in the New York State Assembly where she fought to restore ethics in Albany, expand transit service in her district, improve programs for senior citizens, reform education, better New York’s economic climate and help her community rebuild after Hurricane Sandy.
Malliotakis is the daughter of immigrants, her father from Greece, and her mother a Cuban exile of the Castro dictatorship. She is a passionate advocate for animal rights and the strengthening of animal cruelty laws. In her spare time, Malliotakis enjoys spending time with her new chihuahua, Luna.
