(WASHINGTON, DC) – Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis (NY-11) celebrated the passage of H.R. 7776, the Water Resources Development Act of 2022 (WRDA) which includes her legislative language that secures funding for the South Shore of Staten Island Coastal Storm Risk Management Project, otherwise known as the East Shore Seawall. The bill passed the House last night with bipartisan support and a final vote count of 384 to 37.

My office recently assisted an Egyptian immigrant with becoming a U.S. citizen after he was stuck in the immigration process for more than four years. 

Mohamed Elslawy filed an N-400, Application for Naturalization, with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) in March of 2018. One year later, after a series of background checks and a naturalization test, he was recommended for approval. Unfortunately, due to bureaucracy and red tape, Mr. Elslawy’s case was put on hold.

A contingent of Greece’s Presidential Guard Corps, the Evzones, will also march in the parade and participate in other parade events to uplift the spirits of the Greek-American community.

NEW YORK – Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis (NY-11) on June 1 reminded constituents to check their passports to avoid delays due to application backlogs as the summer vacation season begins. Since taking office, the congresswoman’s office has helped roughly 700 constituents who ran the risk of missing their travel plans obtain passports and renewals. She was among those who advocated that passport agencies return to pre-pandemic staffing levels to deal with backlogs. The Department of State announced the pre-pandemic staffing level took effect this week.
