After years of delays, Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-Staten Island/South Brooklyn) believes a vital resiliency project is ready to move forward along the East Shore.
Malliotakis has long maintained that design conflicts between the city and federal governments have been a key cause to delays for the massive project officially known as the South Shore of Staten Island Coastal Storm Risk Management Project, but colloquially referred to as the East Shore Sea Wall.

"As someone who proudly represents a large Jewish population, it was an honor to be selected by Speaker McCarthy to escort Israeli President Isaac Herzog into the House Chamber for his historic and brilliant speech in honor of the 75th anniversary of Israel.
The House on Wednesday voted in favor of barring the use of public schools and colleges that receive federal funds as shelters for migrants.
The Schools Not Shelters Act passed the lower chamber in a 222-201 vote, with four Democrats joining all Republicans to vote in support of the legislation.
