Gov. Hochul’s announcement that she has indefinitely postponed congestion pricing is welcome news, particularly for those of us who have been fighting it since the Legislature adopted it in 2019.

We have introduced legislation at the local and federal levels, launched lawsuits, held press conferences, and written op-eds to let people know that congestion pricing is nothing more than a cash grab in a war on cars.

Rep. Nicole Malliotakis, R-N.Y., told Newsmax on Wednesday that President Joe Biden's executive order on the U.S. southern border is "window dressing" that won't solve the problem of illegal immigration.

Biden on Tuesday announced his plan to use an executive order to close the border if the number of encounters in between legal ports of entry reaches 2,500 per day, only to reopen if illegal encounters drop below an average of 1,500 per day.

Rep. Nicole Malliotakis, R-N.Y., chided Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., for failing to comment after two police officers were shot in her New York City district allegedly by a Venezuelan gang member. 

Malliotakis used Ocasio-Cortez's own words that the progressive Democrat had hurled during a fiery exchange with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., last month during a congressional hearing.
