Malliotakis Helps Egyptian Immigrant Become Citizen After Four Years of Red Tape & Bureaucracy
My office recently assisted an Egyptian immigrant with becoming a U.S. citizen after he was stuck in the immigration process for more than four years.
Mohamed Elslawy filed an N-400, Application for Naturalization, with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) in March of 2018. One year later, after a series of background checks and a naturalization test, he was recommended for approval. Unfortunately, due to bureaucracy and red tape, Mr. Elslawy’s case was put on hold.
Almost three years later, he decided to reach out to my office for help. My staff contacted USCIS on his behalf and pushed for an expedition of his Oath Ceremony date. On June 2, Mr. Elslawy was sworn in as an American citizen and was given his Citizenship Certificate!
