Malliotakis: "We Will Not Stand Idly By as China Harasses Our Constituents"

(NEW YORK, NY) - Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis (NY-11) released the following statement regarding the Federal Bureau of Investigation's (FBI) arrest of two alleged Chinese Communist Party (CCP) operatives running clandestine "police stations" in New York City to spy and harass dissidents who fled communism for freedom in the United States.
"Back in October 2022, I initially highlighted these CCP police stations and called for the Department of Justice and the FBI to take action. I'm pleased to see these stations shut down and arrests made. We must continue to aggressively investigate the CCP’s efforts to harass and spy on our Chinese-American constituents and dissidents, most of whom fled communist China to escape these types of oppressive government tactics for freedom. These individuals should not have to live in fear. It's outrageous that the CCP is exercising extraterritorial law enforcement on U.S. soil and I continue to urge Secretary Blinken and Attorney General Garland to prioritize shutting these stations down as quickly as possible to protect American citizens and our nation's sovereignty from foreign encroachment."
