Malliotakis Statement on Second Knifepoint Rape in NYC at Hands of Illegal Migrants

(BROOKLYN, NY) - Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis (NY-11) today released the following statement regarding the knifepoint rape of a woman in Coney Island by two illegal migrants on Sunday night: 

"Two months ago, a 13-year-old girl was raped and robbed at knifepoint in Kissena Park, Queens by an illegal immigrant from Ecuador. Now we learn another woman suffered the same brutal attack last night at the hands of two illegal migrants from Nicaragua and Mexico, one of whom previously lived at the La Quinta hotel migrant shelter on Third Avenue on taxpayers' dime. The Biden-Harris Administration's open-border policies are allowing these violent, unvetted individuals in, and our Mayor and Governor are using our tax dollars to lure them to New York City with "free" food, housing, healthcare and education. It's so misguided and wrong.

"Because of these backward policies and the city's refusal to cooperate with ICE, dangerous criminals have been given free reign of our streets to put the public's safety at risk. Unless Democrats at the city, state and federal level wake up to the damage their policies have caused, more women and innocent people will surely fall victim to these heinous, violent and sexual attacks. It's infuriating that even after thousands of incidents of migrant crime, the Biden-Harris Administration won’t rescind their more than 60 executive orders that created this crisis and the city refuses to take action to end its sanctuary city law and stop misinterpreting 'Right to Shelter' meant for homeless New Yorkers. It's a dereliction of their duty to keep our country and communities safe, and New Yorkers and all Americans should demand accountability at the ballot box this November."
