Malliotakis Statement on FAA NOTAM System

(WASHINGTON, DC) - Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis (NY-11) today released the following statement regarding this morning's outage of the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Notice to Air Missions (NOTAM) system.
"This morning’s news that the FAA has grounded all domestic flights due to a NOTAM system outage for the first time since September 11, 2001, is deeply troubling. Americans depend on a reliable transportation system that moves people and products from point to point efficiently. Under President Biden, we have experienced a series of transportation crises, from supply chain bottlenecks at our ports, a shortage of truck drivers to transport goods, a near rail strike and unprecedented air travel delays. The Biden administration’s priorities are simply not focused on preventing these potentially catastrophic problems but, instead, on trivialities like “racist roads” and eliminating gas-run vehicles. I implore the administration to invest its time and resources on ensuring our nation is making the necessary upgrades to our transportation and cyber-security infrastructure to keep passengers safe and transportation reliable."
Congresswoman Malliotakis (NY-11) is a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and one of 13 House Republicans that supported the Bipartisan Infrastructure Investments and Jobs Act.
