Malliotakis Statement on Biden Impeachment Inquiry

December 13, 2023

(WASHINGTON, DC) - Today Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis issued the following statement regarding her vote in support of formalizing the House's impeachment investigation into President Joe Biden over his family's shady business dealings.

"Over the past year, the Judiciary, Oversight, and Ways and Means Committees have reviewed tens of thousands of emails, bank records, and whistleblower documents that detail an influence-peddling scheme involving several members of the Biden family, including President Biden himself. Since launching this investigation in September, House Republicans have discovered 20 shell companies that transferred over $24 million from foreign entities in China, Romania, and Ukraine to the Biden family (including Joe Biden), and that then Vice President Biden had direct contact with several of his son's shady business partners, both in person and via email pseudonyms, likely about his business dealings. Despite sending subpoenas and transcribed interview requests to over 20 people related to this investigation, the Biden Administration continues to stonewall our efforts to uncover the truth about what the Biden family did in exchange for all this foreign money. These facts warrant further investigation which is why Congress formalized this impeachment inquiry today to force the Biden Administration to cooperate with our efforts to provide transparency and accountability for the American people."
