Malliotakis Statement on Biden Administration Cowering to Iran's Demands

(WASHINGTON, DC) - Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis (NY-11), member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, today released the following statement regarding the Biden Administration's decision to lift sanctions on more than one dozen former Iranian officials and energy firms:

“The Biden Administration’s thoughtless decision to lift sanctions against former Iranian Oil Co. officials and other companies in the petrochemical industry shows the Administration’s weakness and willingness to cower to the demands of the Ayatollah Khamenei. Lifting sanctions on Iran only endangers our allies in the Middle East, puts us at risk of making another shoddy nuclear deal, and removes any leverage the U.S. had to save American hostages. Instead of showing strength and demanding accountability, the Administration is putting its weak foreign policy strategy on full display by making concessions with the world’s leading state-sponsor of terrorism.”
