Malliotakis Statement on Averting a Government Shutdown

September 19, 2025

(WASHINGTON, DC) - Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis (NY-11) released the following statement regarding her vote to avert a shutdown and keep the government fully funded through at least November 21, 2025.

"Today I voted for a clean continuing resolution to keep our government open while we continue to work through the remaining appropriations bills to restore fiscal responsibility in Washington.

A Schumer shutdown would impact millions of American families, federal employees, and military service members who would see programs and pay withheld. We are taking action to ensure the government remains open, critical services are delivered, and our men and women in uniform are paid on time. I urge the Senate to swiftly pass this funding bill, which should receive bipartisan support considering these are the funding levels negotiated by Senator Schumer himself in 2024."
