Malliotakis: Socialist Attempts to Sink Bipartisan Infrastructure Package are Destructive to America

(WASHINGTON, DC) - Today Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis (NY-11) blasted Senator Bernie Sanders (D-VT) and progressive members of the U.S. House of Representatives for attempting to sink a standalone vote on the Senate's version of the bipartisan infrastructure package:
"Senator Bernie Sanders and his socialist squad are attempting to sink the bipartisan infrastructure package by holding it hostage for their costly and destructive $4.3 trillion socialist spending plan. The infrastructure package passed the Senate with overwhelming bipartisan support and whether it passes or fails, it deserves a clean, standalone vote in the House. The vote was already delayed once and Speaker Pelosi should reject calls from the radical left to delay it again.
"Citizens expect their taxpayer dollars to go towards the basics, such as schools, public safety, transportation, and infrastructure. Simply put, the socialist squad doesn't care about updating our country's decades-old infrastructure, including roads, bridges, airports, seaports, sewer systems, and coastal resiliency projects. Their only concern is passing bloated spending packages that create more welfare, entitlements, inflation, and government control."
