Malliotakis Joins Unanimous Vote to Declassify All Information Relating to COVID-19 Origins

(WASHINGTON, DC) - Following the first Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic hearing regarding the origins of COVID-19, Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis (NY-11) today joined her House colleagues in a unanimous vote to declassify all information relating to the potential links between the Wuhan Institue of Virology and the origins of the virus.
"Following this week's hearing where former CDC Director Dr. Robert Redfield told me that U.S. tax dollars from the NIH, State Department, USAID and DoD were funding the gain-of-function research in Communist China’s Wuhan Lab that likely created the COVID-19 virus, I joined my colleagues in UNANIMOUSLY voting to declassify all information relating to the virus' origins," Malliotakis said. "It's clear that Dr. Anthony Fauci and others at the highest levels of our government squashed scientific debate and intentionally suppressed information to mislead the public and squash the lab leak theory as the source of this virus which has killed nearly as many Americans as the number of those killed in every war since the American Revolution combined. The American people and Congress deserve to know where and how this virus was created and escaped so we can hold our government officials accountable and prevent a future pandemic from occurring.”
