Malliotakis Hosts Roundtable with Jewish Community Leaders on Staten Island

(STATEN ISLAND, NY) - Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis (NY-11) yesterday hosted a roundtable discussion at the JCC of Staten Island with Rabbis and Jewish community leaders regarding the ongoing war in Israel along with the disturbing rise in antisemitic hate crimes and antisemitic protests on college campuses.
"With everything going on at home and abroad, it's critically important that our Jewish community members know we are here to listen to their concerns and implement policies that reaffirm our support for our great ally Israel during this incredibly difficult time," Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis said. "What we're seeing on college campuses right now is extremely disturbing and should frighten every American. No one should fear going to work or school because of their faith, and I will continue to be an advocate for members of the Jewish community in Congress to hold those who are promoting antisemitism accountable for their vile rhetoric."

Malliotakis is member of the bipartisan House-Knesset Parliamentary Friendship Group, and has voted for, introduced and cosponsored several pieces of legislation to provide critical military assistance to Israel, restore maximum pressure on Iran, crackdown on rising antisemitism on college campuses and secure federal security grants for the local jewish community.
Last week the House Committee on Ways and Means, of which Malliotakis is a member, hosted a hearing on antisemitism where the Congresswoman laid out consequences she believes college campuses should be subject to for allowing antisemitism to go unaddressed, including:
- Stripping of federal funding
- Prohibiting financial aid
- Rescinding tax-exempt stats
- Revoke student visas from participants
