Malliotakis Helps 37 Immigrants Become U.S. Citizens in 2023

(STATEN ISLAND, BROOKLYN, NY) - Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis (NY-11), today announced her office has helped 37 immigrants from 14 different countries become United States citizens in 2023. This brings her total since being elected to Congress to 112, 70 in Richmond County and 42 in Kings County.
“While the Biden Administration is prioritizing those who've crossed the border illegally with their 'last in first out' policy, our office has been helping those who did everything right but have been caught in bureaucratic red tape for years, including helping 37 immigrants become American Citizens in 2023 alone. We should be rewarding those that followed the proper process, not punishing them by pushing them further down the line. As the daughter of immigrants, I'm proud to have helped these individuals and wish them continued success as they work to achieve their American Dreams."
The 37 immigrants Malliotakis' office helped become citizens this year came from: Albania, Egypt, China, North Macedonia, Nigeria, Liberia, Lebanon, Sri Lanka, Spain, Syria, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Pakistan and Yemen. 18 became citizens in Richmond County and 19 became citizens in Kings County.
