Malliotakis Celebrates SALT Relief in House Tax Package
(STATEN ISLAND, NY) - Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis was joined by Councilmembers David Carr and Frank Morano; representatives from the offices of Assemblymen Sam Pirozzolo, Michael Reilly, and Michael Tannousis; members of the Port Richmond North Shore Alliance and the South Beach Civic Association; and Francine and Frank Reali of Safari Realty at Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Safari Realty to celebrate passage of the House’s tax package that quadrupled the SALT tax deduction.
Malliotakis rallied with the group to call on the Senate to follow suit and pass the legislation without delay—emphasizing that hardworking New Yorkers cannot afford to wait any longer for this critical tax relief. Malliotakis also highlighted other key provisions included in the Big Beautiful Bill. In addition to increasing the SALT deduction, the legislation delivers tax relief for senior citizens, working Americans, and middle-class families with increases to the standard deduction and Child Tax Credit, protects and strengthens Medicaid for our most vulnerable, secures our borders, modernizes our national security, and unleashes American energy.

"As our Mayor and Governor continue to tax us to death year after year, our community is in desperate need of SALT relief. This package also includes key provisions like expanding the Child Tax Credit, funding to secure our borders, upgrading our nation's air traffic control systems, and jumpstarting domestic energy production to help lower energy costs. Together, these measures will provide the critical relief New Yorkers need and deserve."

We want to make sure that as the cost of living continues to rise that we are able to help homeowners keep a bit more money in their pockets, and that is what this SALT deduction restoration is going to be doing. It is going to allow folks to better afford the homes they already have and maybe for some of our aspiring homeowners who are looking to put down that down payment, get a mortgage, it is going to be a little easier knowing that property tax bill is going to be deducted on their federal income taxes," said Councilman David Carr.

By working to lift the SALT cap, Rep. Malliotakis helped deliver real tax relief to families who were being penalized simply for living and working in their home state.
