Malliotakis: Bay Ridge, Staten Island Rite Aids To Begin Offering COVID-19 Vaccinations

February 11, 2021

(WASHINGTON, DC) - Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis (NY-11) today announced Rite Aid pharmacies in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, and Staten Island will begin offering COVID-19 immunizations on Friday, February 12, 2021, as part of the Federal Retail Pharmacy Program:

"Sadly, Bay Ridge was neglected by New York City and was not included in their initial vaccine distribution and administration plans," said Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis. "I'm happy to work with Rite Aid to make sure residents have access to vaccines at their local pharmacy, however, I understand there is a need for more administration sites and an increased dose supply. I will continue to push the city to increase the number of immunization sites across Staten Island and Southern Brooklyn to ensure our community can receive a vaccine at a convenient location in a timely manner."

Vaccine doses will be available at the Rite Aids on 3rd Avenue in Brooklyn and Amboy Road in Staten Island starting Friday, February 12, 2021, with appointments available Tuesday through Saturday for individuals eligible under Phase 1a and 1b. Rite Aid also offers free COVID testing through their drive-thru pharmacies given the limited availability of vaccines at this time.

Malliotakis has been outspoken about the need for more vaccine administration sites in New York City, and has worked with the Veterans Administration (VA) to open vaccination sites at the Brooklyn VA Medical Center and Staten Island VA clinic.
